Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville, IL, is seeking a Control System Team Lead to join the Drivetrain Controls System Simulation and Validation group.

You will provide technical leadership across software, controls, and development activities, guiding NPI drivetrain controls from concept through production readiness. The role emphasizes validation planning, systems engineering, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring embedded software quality and robust drivetrain solutions for large

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum.
Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Computer/Ag Engineering degrees listed as preferred.
Experience in drivetrain controls, embedded software, or related product development is valued.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute NPI controls development for Large Track Type Tractor applications.
Develop and integrate drivetrain control solutions for transmissions, torque converters, actuators, sensors, and embedded software.
Own validation planning and execution across simulation, bench, and machine environments.
Execute technology transformation projects to improve capability, quality, and efficiency.
Apply systems engineering to balance performance, durability, safety, maintainability, and cost.
Coordinate with global teams for design reviews, software releases, integration, and validation execution.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and validation teams for system integration and issue resolution.
Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions during development and validation phases.
Contribute to standard work and continuous improvement in drivetrain mechatronics development and validation processes.
