Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Utah is seeking an Associate Tool Engineer to support tooling and equipment for Aerospace applications. You will handle concept and design, fabrication drawings, inspection requirements, and procurement for programs.

The role involves interfacing with review teams, managing procurements, inspecting hardware, and collaborating with manufacturing to meet cost and schedule objectives. Occasional travel to supplier sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in a STEM discipline.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Ability to travel to suppliers (15-20% travel).

Responsibilities

• Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design
• Manage projects and coordinate all procurements and fabrication to meet the program cost and schedule requirements
• Inspect fabricated support hardware to assure compliance to design
• Work with internal customers to define needed support equipment for new and existing programs
• Develop tooling concepts, creating/reviewing and improving manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements
• Review engineering drawings and designs for manufacturability
• Travel to suppliers to support them as needed during fabrication
• Inspect tool configuration for drawing compliance, including fit, form and function
• Support continuous improvement
• Support operations and process engineering in the use of all tooling
