Job summary

McKinstry in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Associate Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering and Design team. You will lead electrical design projects for building systems, mentor engineers, and coordinate with clients, utilities, and partners to deliver high‑quality solutions.

The role requires 8–10 years in electrical engineering, PE licensure, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and design analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Professional Engineer registration and licensure in additional states may be required.
• 8–10 years of electrical engineering experience in built environments.
• Experience with 15 kV and below and mid-size campus distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of electrical distribution, lighting, emergency power, and medium‑voltage systems.
• Mentor project engineers and allocate resources to meet deadlines and project scope.
• Develop and maintain technical standards and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee analyses that support pre-design, proposals, and project delivery.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and cross‑disciplinary coordination for design‑build projects.
