Job Overview

Cordoba Corporation, a leading engineering and design firm based in California, is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to support our Education & Facilities Sector. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of professional experience in electrical design, specifically within public agencies, school construction, or large-scale capital commercial projects.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide electrical design work, coordinating with in-house staff and task order engineers.
  2. Review construction drawings for compliance with District standards and electrical codes.
  3. Support construction administration for ongoing projects.
  4. Prepare electrical estimates and reports for project funding.
  5. Assist in defining electrical scope and virtual DSA backcheck appointments.
  6. Visit school sites to verify as-built conditions.
  7. Resolve electrical issues during construction with subject matter expertise.
  8. Coordinate power upgrade designs with engineers and service providers.
  9. Assist Asset Management in electrical scope clarification for modernization projects.
  10. Update District design guides based on new code requirements.
  11. Research code changes and implement solutions.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized institution.
  2. At least three years of professional electrical design experience in public agencies, school construction, or large commercial projects, or a valid California Professional Electrical Engineer license.
  3. Experience with K-12 school projects within the last 5 years preferred.
  4. Power design experience including low and medium voltage (1-2 years).
  5. Experience with fire alarm, public address, telephone, security, and data systems (1-2 years).
  6. DSA experience including submittals, backcheck, and construction documentation.
  7. Proficiency with AutoCAD 2020 or newer (1-2 years).
Additional Details
  • Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000 per year.
  • Work Environment: Onsite in Los Angeles, California.
