Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in North Wales, PA, seeks an Associate Director for US Oncology Payer/ Market Access to shape payer strategies across current indications and future launches.

You will collaborate with brand teams, access and reimbursement groups, medical affairs, pricing, policy, and external partners to ensure patient access and payer value messaging. This role leads cross-functional initiatives, oversees early access planning, list pricing, and lifecycle gross-to-net considerations, and

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years combined experience in Pharmaceutical Marketing, Marketing Customer Management, Managed Care or Sales.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving, analytical thinking and planning skills.
• Proactive nature and ability to manage change, anticipate risks, and design controls or mitigation.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills (written & verbal).
• Proficient at leading across department and roles and engaging senior management.
• Strong judgment, prioritization and decision-making skills in broader corporate context.
• Comfortable working with diverse teams; demonstrates inclusive behaviors.
• Understanding of healthcare trends and policy issues around pharmacy and medical benefits.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with alliance partners and internal functions to develop customer-specific strategies and execute to achieve access and business growth.
• Collaborate with internal teams and partners to develop payer/ market access strategies aligned to brand objectives.
• Input into payer value propositions, channel strategies and branded promotional initiatives.
• Own resource support and messaging for field-facing teams (Oncology Sales, Key Accounts, etc.).
• Provide US-perspective input to Global Access, Health Economics & Outcomes Research and business development.
• Coordinate across Organized Customer Access and Reimbursement, policy, pricing and legal to build a consistent value proposition.
• Support alliance and new product forecasting discussions as needed.
• Understand costs and patient out-of-pocket implications for mono and combo therapies.
