Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking an Associate Director to lead educational programs in special and alternative education settings nationwide.

You will collaborate with teachers to deliver individualized services, monitor student progress, and engage with families to support learning and behavior goals. The role requires credentials in education, leadership experience, and a background in supporting students with serious emotional disabilities.

Qualifications

• Credentials in Education or similar field; MD Special Education Teaching Certification preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Extensive experience with students with serious emotional disabilities is strongly preferred.
• School leadership experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office preferred.
• Must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all students are educated in accordance with their IEPs.
• Observation of classrooms on a regular basis both formally and informally.
• Weekly staff meetings for information sharing and issue discussion.
• Attending Regional activities including a weekly Director’s Meeting.
• Attending a monthly Goal Review with Supervisor; demonstrating growth and goal completion.
• Reporting facilities issues to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
• Communicating with parents, supervisors, and district personnel.
• Involving parents in the educational program and parent education events.
• Ensuring that state licensing health and safety policies are followed.
• Forging and maintaining stakeholder relationships; providing excellent customer service.
• Staff supervision monthly; ensuring policy compliance and program quality.
• Maintaining records including financial, licensing, student, and employee files.
• Regular communication with supervisors to ensure support is available.
• Identifying staff and program needs and arranging professional development.
• Modeling professional demeanor to staff, parents, and school personnel.
• Other duties may be assigned.
