Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) seeks an assistant teacher to support small groups of students with diverse needs in K-12 settings. You will collaborate with the lead teacher to deliver individualized services and track progress using SESI’s model.

This role emphasizes behavior support, de-escalation techniques, and documentation of student growth, while maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom environment across districts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction and implement the SESI rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavioral and academic support.
• Assist with assessments and reinforce learning through one-on-one tutorials.
• Support large group activities, grading, and independent study when needed.
• Utilize behavior support strategies and ensure student safety.
