Job summary

Howard University seeks an Associate Director for ACE Learning Support & Success Initiatives to lead tutoring, academic coaching, and retention programs. Reporting to the Senior Director of ACE, the role oversees learning services, orientation, and transition activities aimed at improving persistence and degree completion for undergraduate students.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in higher education, counseling, student affairs, education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated leadership, supervision, training, assessment, and project management experience.
• Experience using data and student information systems to improve student success services.

Responsibilities

• Advance strategic student success goals with ACE leadership and staff.
• Provide leadership through planning, supervision, collaboration, assessment and improvement.
• Collaborate with campus partners to implement high-impact student success practices.
• Oversee tutoring, placement testing, academic coaching, and success workshops.
• Strengthen referrals, interventions, retention, and coordinated student support.
• Teach College Study Skills courses.
• Oversee orientation and retention initiatives.
• Set unit goals, outcomes, and reporting priorities.
• Supervise and develop professional staff and student employees.
• Analyze data to assess outcomes and inform programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
