Job summary

Howard University’s Talent Acquisition and ACE units seek an Associate Director to lead ACE Learning Support & Success Initiatives. You will guide orientation, tutoring, and retention efforts, advancing student achievement across ACE services.

The role oversees staff, coordinates with campus partners, and uses data to drive improvements in persistence and degree completion across undergraduate programs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in higher education, counseling, student affairs, education, or related field.
• Demonstrated leadership, supervision, training, assessment, and project management experience.
• Experience using data and student information systems to improve student success services.

Responsibilities

• Advance strategic student success goals with OUS leadership and ACE staff.
• Provide leadership through strategic planning, supervision, collaboration, assessment, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with campus partners to implement high-impact student success practices.
• Oversee tutoring, placement testing, academic coaching, academic recovery support, and success workshops.
• Strengthen referrals, academic interventions, retention practices, and coordinated student support with campus partners.
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate professional staff and student employees.
• Analyze data to assess outcomes, guide improvement, and inform student success programming. Develop periodic reports.
