Job summary

Howard University, Office of Undergraduate Studies, is seeking an Academic and Career Advisor to provide integrated academic and career guidance to an assigned caseload of undergraduate students. You will support persistence, progression, and graduation through proactive advising, data-driven outreach, and strong student engagement.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and 1–3 years of relevant experience; a Master’s degree in higher education or related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1–3 years of experience in academic advising or related field.
• Preferred Master's degree in higher education, counseling, student affairs, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Deliver integrated academic and career advising to an assigned caseload of undergraduate students.
• Support student persistence, progression, and graduation through proactive advising and data-informed outreach.
• Document advising interactions in the student information system and track follow-through.
• Refer students to campus resources and assist with major exploration and career readiness.
