Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ seeks a Large Molecule drug substance leader to manage LM drug substance portfolio in a global CMO network, focusing on tech transfer, development, scale-up and lifecycle management. You will lead external supplier collaboration and end-to-end project execution for in-line supply.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking and effective cross-functional collaboration across regulatory, QA and manufacturing to drive performance and cost improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering or comparable.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in LM drug substance development and tech transfer.
• Experience in development of viral vaccines and LM drug substances (mAbs, antigens, ADCs, mRNA).
• Strong business acumen, communication skills and proven project management leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead LM drug substance tech transfer, development, scale-up, production and lifecycle management.
• Manage external suppliers (CMOs) for in-line supply and network transfers.
• Lead cross-functional meetings with internal teams and suppliers to track changes and improvements.
• Develop and pursue innovation projects to improve processes and reduce costs.
• Present status updates in governance forums using PowerPoint.
