Job summary

Merck & Co. in the US seeks an Associate Director, Process Development Large Molecules to lead a high-performing BTS-PD team and drive robust technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing for a rapid product supply.

The role partners with R&D, operations, quality and regulatory, focusing on risk assessment, process improvements, and COG reduction while aligning with regional strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's with at least 8 years of relevant post-graduate experience OR Master with 6+ years OR doctoral with 4+ years.
• Minimum of 3 years of direct management experience.
• Minimum four years in technology transfer, process development, operations, or manufacturing in a regulated biopharmaceutical environment.
• Demonstrated project leadership to manage priorities and deliver on time in a complex matrix.
• Strong knowledge of EMA, FDA, and/or USDA regulations and guidelines.
• Commitment to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust processes and transfer technologies from R&D to operations for antigens and final products.
• Collaborate with R&D, operations, quality, and regulatory to ensure on-time filings and launches.
• Build and coach a technology transfer team, driving safety, technical excellence, and career progression.
• Oversee risk assessment, process improvements, and lab experiments to reduce COGs and increase robustness.
