Job summary

Cooley LLP in Boston seeks an Associate Director of Marketing - IP to lead strategic marketing initiatives for the IP practice. You will translate business objectives into formal plans, collaborate with the Insights team, and drive practice development through campaigns, messaging, and client engagement.

You will manage senior colleagues, oversee budgets, and ensure high-level storytelling for proposals and pitches in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of marketing or business development experience in professional services.
• 4+ years of management experience (senior level preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree required; legal industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate marketing plans into detailed briefs for campaign strategy.
• Consult on buyer profiles and segments with Insights team.
• Direct the practice development roadmap and ensure current market relevance.
• Oversee BU marketing budget and measure ROI of sponsorships.
• Lead pitches and proposals with Client Development and Pursuits & Proposals teams.
• Supervise and mentor direct reports; oversee staffing and time logs.
