Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking an Associate Director of Inpatient Pharmacy Operations to lead high-quality pharmacy services across HUP inpatient facilities and directly report to the Director of Pharmacy. The role will supervise pharmacy managers and drive workflow optimization and quality improvements to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacist (Required)
  • Board Certification (Preferred)
  • B.S. (Required)
  • PharmD (Preferred)
  • MS, MHA, MBA , or other applicable Master's Degree (Preferred)
  • PGY1/ PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency (Preferred)
  • Pharmacy Equivalent Experience: 5+ years of progressive health-system pharmacy leadership experience (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high-level, consistent performance and a safe medication delivery system throughout HUP’s inpatient pharmacies
  • Ensure financial budget accountabilities with all areas of responsibility
  • Ensure operational compliance with all established federal and state regulatory rules and laws as well as professional standards set by national and local organizations
  • Ensure that all staff within the Associate Director of Inpatient Pharmacy Operations' reporting structure demonstrate the professional and technical requirements and competencies of their respective jobs
  • Support and manage the rollout of new initiatives, external collaborations and special projects in accordance with accreditation standards
  • Serve as the point person for Inpatient Pharmacy Operations in cross-departmental / entity projects and follow up with key stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Maintain reports to track metrics, monitor performance and ensure working order of operational equipment
  • Other duties as assigned to support pharmacy, the entity, and overall health-system

Education

B.S. (Required)
PharmD (Preferred)
MS, MHA, MBA , or other applicable Master's Degree (Preferred)
PGY1/ PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency (Preferred)
Pharmacy Equivalent Experience: 5+ years of progressive health-system pharmacy leadership experience (Required)
