Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Associate Director to establish and lead the Human Data & Computational Biology capability within Rare Disease Research. You will integrate human genetics, multi-omics, and patient-derived data to identify therapeutic opportunities, combining computational prowess with deep biological intuition.

You will collaborate across disease areas, develop scalable workflows, and drive data-driven decisions while mentoring future team members and presenting findings to leadership.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years applying computational biology methods to translational questions.
• MS with 7+ years of analytics experience in computational biology settings.
• BS with 9+ years applying computational approaches to biology questions.
• Assoc. degree with 12+ years applying computational methods in biology.
• High school diploma with 14+ years applying computational biology analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop computational strategies for target discovery and validation.
• Analyze large-scale genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic and clinical data.
• Leverage human genetics to strengthen disease hypotheses.
• Collaborate with internal/external partners to integrate genetics early in discovery.
• Establish scalable analytical workflows for multiple diseases.
• Evaluate AI-enabled approaches to accelerate insights.
• Help recruit and lead future computational biology team members.
• Present findings to project teams and leadership.
