Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks seeks an Associate Director to lead the Human Data & Computational Biology capability within Rare Disease Research, partnering across disease areas to integrate human genetics, multi-omics, and computational approaches to identify therapeutic opportunities.

You will build scalable analytics, recruit and mentor scientists, and translate complex findings into actionable scientific recommendations, while collaborating with internal teams and external partners to advance early

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree with 3+ years applying computational biology to translational questions.
• Master’s degree with 7+ years analytics in biological research.
• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years analytics in biological research.
• Associate’s degree with 12+ years analytics in biological research.
• High school diploma with 14+ years analytics in biological research.

Responsibilities

• Develop computational strategies for target discovery, validation, and prioritization.
• Analyze large-scale biological data including genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, imaging, and clinical data.
• Leverage human genetic evidence to strengthen disease understanding and therapeutic hypotheses.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to integrate genetics into early discovery programs.
• Establish scalable analytical workflows applicable across disease areas.
