Job summary

PBS is seeking an Associate Director, Content Packaging to oversee day-to-day operations within the Content Packaging team. You will manage workload, ensure timely, accurate metadata and media delivery across PBS National Kids, General Audience and Pledge Programming.

You will also coordinate with internal clients, supervise editors, and help develop SOPs and metrics. This role requires strong management, communication, and post-production expertise to support PBS distribution channels.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in communications, television or related fields.
• BA in Communications, Television/Film or equivalent.
• Experience with film/video post-production; AVID a plus.
• Knowledge of broadcast technology and operations.
• Familiarity with supervising editors in post-production.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel; basic database familiarity.
• Strong management, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
• Familiarity with PBS guidelines and public television packaging.
• Analytical skills with creative/technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Content Packaging.
• Supervise media and metadata QC and package assembly.
• Coordinate with internal clients for distribution requirements.
• Train and develop Content Packaging team.
• Represent Content Packaging in interdepartmental meetings.
• Develop SOPs and department metrics.
• Support customer service related to PBS specs.
