Job summary

PBS, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director for Content Packaging to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring timely, accurate metadata and media delivery for PBS National Kids, General Audience, and Pledge Programming.

You will coordinate with internal clients, supervise editors, and help develop SOPs and metrics while maintaining strong communication across departments. A BA and post-production experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in communications, television or related fields.
• B.A. in Communications, Television/Film production or similar field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in film/video post-production, including AVID or similar non-linear editing.
• Knowledge of broadcast technology and operations.
• Familiarity with supervising online and offline editors in post production environments.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel; familiarity with database programming.
• Strong management and supervisory skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee processing of broadcast deliverables including QC and distribution package assembly.
• Supervise updating media for editorial or technical issues.
• Coordinate with team to ensure timely, accurate media repackaging.
• Assist Director in developing SOPs and department metrics.
• Support internal and external clients regarding PBS technical specs and distribution requirements.
• Represent Content Packaging at interdepartmental meetings.
• Train and develop Content Packaging team.
