Job summary

PBS Associate, Digital Video manages preparation, quality, and delivery of digital media assets and metadata across PBS platforms. Responsibilities

• Coordinate the intake, preparation, validation, and distribution of digital media assets across PBS-owned and third-party platforms, ensuring files and supporting materials are complete and publication-ready.
• Manage media asset workflows, including file versions, encodes, captions, artwork, and other platform-specific deliverables, while monitoring delivery schedules to ensure timely availability.
• Maintain accurate metadata, taxonomy, artwork, and content records across media asset management and content management systems.
• Manage digital content libraries by ensuring metadata, rights, availability windows, and asset lifecycle information remain accurate, organized, and compliant with internal and platform requirements.
• Perform quality assurance reviews of media files, metadata, captions, artwork, and associated assets to ensure compliance with PBS technical, editorial, branding, accessibility, and distribution standards.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve media asset, metadata, and content delivery issues in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
• Partner with Programming, PBS Distribution, Media Operations, Product, Technology and Operations, Marketing, and external producers to support content delivery and operational workflows.
• Document operational procedures, standard operating practices, and recurring issues while recommending workflow and process improvements.
• Conduct routine audits to improve metadata quality, library integrity, and operational efficiency.
• Support new platform launches, workflow enhancements, and media operations initiatives as business needs evolve.

Position Overview:

The Associate, Digital Video is responsible for managing the preparation, quality, and delivery of digital media assets and metadata across PBS-owned and third-party platforms. Working closely with Programming, Media Operations, PBS Distribution, Product, Technology and Operations, Marketing, and external content partners, this role ensures content is accurately prepared, published, and maintained in accordance with distribution schedules, rights requirements, and platform specifications.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with video encoding, captions, subtitles, artwork, or media packaging.
• Knowledge of digital distribution platforms such as PBS Video App, YouTube, FAST, AVOD, or connected TV platforms.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Monday.com, or Smartsheet.
• Basic video editing experience using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software.
• Understanding of digital rights management, content windowing, or licensing workflows.
• Experience with analytics or reporting tools is a plus.

Base pay range for this position at the beginning of employment is expected to be between $24.03/hour to $28.85/hour. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements for eligible employees, including: (i) eligibility for discretionary bonuses; (ii) various insurance options, including medical, dental, vision, hearing, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term and long-term disability, and business travel accident insurance; (iii) identity protection program; (iv) employee assistance program; (v) financial and retirement savings benefits including the PBS Retirement Plan 403(b); (vi) paid time off (17 days per year), paid sick time benefits (12 days per year), paid parental leave (60 days/ 12 weeks ), and paid holidays (12 days per year).
