Job summary

Prince George's County Government seeks an Associate Director - G in the Office of Homeland Security's Code Compliance Division. This senior role directs a countywide program enforcing Property Maintenance, Use & Occupancy, Housing, and Zoning codes, reporting to the Director and Deputy Director.

The position requires the ability to work outside in extreme weather and to supervise professional and administrative staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in related functional area of code compliance; with at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license at the time of application.

Responsibilities

• Maintain extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards applicable to division activities.
• Ensures that code enforcement programs and projections are feasible and meet planning and budgetary requirements.
• Coordinate with Section Heads to assure smooth operations and sound management decisions.
• Ensure that licenses issued are in accordance with applicable sections of the County Code.
• Provide leadership to staff and promote effective employee relations.
