Job summary

PBS is seeking an experiencedSr. Product Manager to lead consumer video product strategy across PBS KIDS and General Audience streaming platforms.

This role owns the product strategy for multiple device platforms, including mobile, connected TV, and emerging platforms, driving roadmap governance and platform strategy while ensuring PBS mission delivery at scale.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with ownership of complex, multi-platform consumer products.
  • Deep experience with streaming video products across mobile and CTV platforms.
  • Strong understanding of platform ecosystems (Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon, Roku).
  • Experience working within regulated environments (COPPA, CCPA, or similar).
  • Proven ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and drive consensus across competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Track record of mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Passion for public media, education, or mission-driven work a plus.
  • Service-focused, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the product roadmap for assigned PBS KIDS and General Audience video platforms, balancing near-term delivery with long-term strategic vision.
  • Lead multi-device product strategy across Apple, Android, Amazon, Roku, and emerging platform ecosystems.
  • Partner with engineering, design, data, and content teams to align on priorities and ship impactful features.
  • Manage backend-driven configuration strategies to accelerate iteration and reduce time-to-market.
  • Champion privacy-by-design principles, ensuring compliance with COPPA and platform-specific app store requirements within the PBS KIDS regulated environment.
  • Drive UX modernization and backend architecture evolution in close partnership with engineering leadership.
  • Lead production stability and observability practices at scale.
  • Mentor junior product managers and contribute to the growth of the product development team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including member stations and platform partners.

Position Overview:


PBS is seeking an experienced Sr. Product Manager to lead consumer video product strategy across select PBS KIDS and General Audience streaming platforms. This role owns product strategy for a defined set of device platforms, including mobile, connected TV, and emerging platforms, and will drive roadmap governance, stakeholder alignment, and platform strategy while ensuring our video products deliver on the PBS mission at scale. The ideal candidate will bring strategic thinking and planning ability, strong relationship-building skills, and a drive for results, while inspiring and coaching those around them.


Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:



  • Own and drive the product roadmap for assigned PBS KIDS and General Audience video platforms, balancing near-term delivery with long-term strategic vision

Requirements for success:

The base pay range for this position at the beginning of employment is expected to be between $110,000 and $125,000/year. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements for eligible employees, including: (i) eligibility for discretionary bonuses; (ii) various insurance options, including medical, dental, vision, hearing, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term and long-term disability, and business travel accident insurance; (iii) identity protection program; (iv) employee assistance program; (v) financial and retirement savings benefits including the PBS Retirement Plan 403(b); (vi) paid time off (17 days per year), paid sick time benefits (12 days per year), paid parental leave (60 days / 12 weeks ), and paid holidays (12 days per year).
