Job description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Associate Development Manager (ADM) collaborates closely with nonprofit leaders addressing critical global challenges. As a strategic partner, the ADM assists clients in cultivating a robust funding foundation by identifying opportunities, pinpointing gaps, evaluating support needs, and delivering strategic, actionable recommendations. Serving as a liaison between the client and the Smarter Good service team, the ADM facilitates seamless communication and project execution.The ADM provides essential support to the Development Manager (DM) in establishing a client-centric service team. This team, composed of strategists, content producers, and analysts, ensures consistent, high-quality service delivery. The ADM works concurrently with three (3) to five (5) nonprofit organizations, each engaged in various projects across diverse causes and locations. In this capacity, the ADM spearheads the provision of top-tier service, driving impactful results and outcomes for each organization.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe ADM has key responsibilities in the following areas:

Client Relationship and Service Excellence

  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact and ensuring clear communication and proactive problem-solving to support long-term retention
  • Proactively identify at-risk clients and collaborate with internal teams to reinforce service value, improve engagement, and strengthen partnerships
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines while managing workflows from initiation to completion to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations
  • Monitor project progress, analyze results, and provide regular reports to clients and internal stakeholders for strategic adjustments
  • Identify challenges and recommend improvements, including the need to pivot and/or innovate when existing solutions do not work, to enhance efficiency and project success
  • Assess client needs and identify opportunities to introduce additional services that align with their goals, supporting efforts to offer a wider range of Smarter Good’s services
  • Actively solicit and integrate client feedback to enhance Smarter Good’s service model, ensuring continuous improvement in service delivery

Capability and Capacity Development Support

  • Provide structured guidance and professional development support to team members, offering constructive feedback, training, and mentorship, ensuring alignment with client objectives and organizational needs
  • Support the tracking of client engagement and retention trends, contributing insights that inform business development strategies and service enhancements
  • Integrate business development insights into training, fostering team awareness of client retention, upsell, and replacement strategies
  • Enhance internal processes and knowledge management, participating in training and development and contributing to team-wide expertise-building
  • Monitor team performance metrics and client impact, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to problem-solve and develop appropriate solutions; share knowledge, best practices, results and achievements; and support training and development
  • Lead or collaborate on special projects as assigned

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹75,000.00 - ₹85,000.00 per month
