Blue Cross NC is seeking an Associate Counsel to support PBM services, including work for the North Carolina State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees. This role intersects health care, pharmacy benefit administration, government programs, and highly regulated health plan operations.

The attorney will work with pharmacy, compliance, operations, data, finance, vendor management, and executives to manage legal risk and provide timely guidance across PBM operations and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited law school.
• 3+ years of experience in related field.
• Licensed to practice law.

Responsibilities

• Advise on PBM contracts and related legal requirements for vendors and operations.
• Provide practical, legally supportable guidance to business partners on PBM obligations.
• Support administration of the State Health Plan PBM contract and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting PBM and health plan operations.
• Assist with audits, investigations, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
• Develop and deliver training on legal, regulatory, and contractual topics for the PBM contract.
