Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking an Associate Counsel to support PBM services, including the North Carolina State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees. The ideal candidate will navigate health care and government program law at a high level of professionalism.

You will partner with pharmacy, compliance, operations, data, and finance teams to manage legal risk and ensure contract compliance across PBM operations and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited law school is required.
• Licensed to practice law.
• 3+ years of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of PBM contracts and related legal requirements.
• Advise internal partners on PBM contractual obligations including pharmacy benefit administration, rebates, and reporting.
• Provide legal support for PBM contracts and State Health Plan administration.
• Assist with privacy, data governance, and regulatory compliance matters.
• Support responses to audits, investigations, and regulatory requests.
• Deliver training to business partners on legal, regulatory, and contractual topics.
