Job summary

CenterPoint Energy, Inc. seeks an Associate Engineer to support PME and ETAP applications for power system modeling, monitoring, and analysis. You will develop new PMU data visualization use cases and support streaming PMU data to ERCOT for reliability and compliance.

The role involves implementing, configuring, testing, deploying software, and collaborating with engineering teams to improve workflows and data accessibility}

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Associate Engineer - Electric utility or power engineering internship/co-op experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation, configuration, testing, and deployment of power system engineering software.
• Support software upgrades and validation testing.
• Assist with collecting, organizing, and validating engineering data from multiple internal systems and teams.
• Work with engineering users to understand workflows, gather business requirements and document enhancement requests.
• Assist in user acceptance testing for new software features and system upgrades.
• Provide day-to-day support to engineering users by answering questions and resolving application issues.
• Help develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to improve accessibility of field engineering data.
• Participate in projects to expand software functionality and improve engineering workflows.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve engineering processes through software enhancements and automation.
