Job summary

CenterPoint Energy is seeking an Associate Engineer to support PME and ETAP applications for power system modeling, monitoring, and analysis. The role focuses on developing new use cases for PMU data visualization and supporting streaming PMU data to ERCOT to meet reliability and compliance objectives.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and prefers internship/co-op experience in electric utilities or power engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Associate Engineer experience preferred (internship/co-op).
  • Experience with power-system software and data analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing, configuring, testing, and deploying power system engineering software.
  • Support software upgrades and validation testing.
  • Assist with collecting, organizing, and validating engineering data from multiple internal systems and teams.
  • Work with engineering users to understand workflows and document enhancement requests.
  • Help develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to improve accessibility of field data.
  • Participate in projects to expand software functionality and improve engineering workflows.
