Job summary

Certus Recruitment is partnering with an established engineering, program management and construction management consultancy to appoint an Associate Construction Manager to its Colorado team. This role offers 5+ years of experience with a path to greater ownership of complex infrastructure projects, working alongside seasoned Construction Managers and engineers.

Based in Fort Collins with some local travel, you will support project controls, scheduling, QA/QC and closeout across water,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive engineering and construction experience.
• Experience in construction/project management and contract administration.
• Strong understanding of construction quality, inspection, testing and documentation.
• Experience managing project schedules, costs and multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with contractors, engineers, clients and public agencies.
• A CCM, PE or comparable professional credential would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing project controls across cost, schedule, quality and overall performance.
• Coordinating contractors, engineers, utilities, government agencies and clients.
• Reviewing project schedules, critical paths, float and construction progress.
• Supporting contract administration, including pay applications, change orders and field directives.
• Conducting site inspections and field observations.
• Monitoring contractor work against plans, specifications, codes and approved submittals.
• Managing construction QA/QC documentation and material testing.
• Preparing progress reports, project dashboards, meeting minutes and project records.
• Maintaining record drawings and as-built documentation.
• Supporting construction-grade surveying and field layout verification where required.
• Coordinating commissioning, punch lists, testing, warranties and final project closeout.
