Fort Collins projects span water, utilities, transportation, and municipal facilities with a salary range of $80,000–$120,000 plus bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive engineering and construction experience.
  • Experience in construction/project management and contract administration.
  • Strong understanding of construction quality, inspection, testing and documentation.
  • Experience managing project schedules, costs and multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with contractors, engineers, clients and public agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Managing project controls across cost, schedule, quality and overall performance.
  • Coordinating contractors, engineers, utilities, government agencies and clients.
  • Reviewing project schedules, critical paths, float and construction progress.
  • Supporting contract administration, including pay applications, change orders and field directives.
  • Conducting site inspections and field observations.
  • Monitoring contractor work against plans, specifications, codes and approved submittals.
  • Managing construction QA/QC documentation and material testing.
  • Preparing progress reports, project dashboards, meeting minutes and project records.
  • Maintaining record drawings and as-built documentation.
  • Supporting construction-grade surveying and field layout verification where required.
  • Coordinating commissioning, punch lists, testing, warranties and final project closeout.

Associate Construction Manager – Civil & Infrastructure

Certus Recruitment is partnering with an established and growing engineering, program management and construction management consultancy to appoint an Associate Construction Manager to its Colorado team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction or engineering professional with 5+ years of experience who wants to take greater ownership of complex infrastructure projects while continuing to develop alongside experienced Construction Managers and engineering professionals.

Our client delivers projects for public and private-sector organizations across water and wastewater, utilities, transportation, heavy civil infrastructure, municipal facilities, telecommunications/fiber and commercial construction.

The Role

Working across multiple projects, you’ll support and increasingly take responsibility for projects from construction planning through delivery, commissioning and closeout.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for candidates who have developed their careers within engineering, construction management or infrastructure project delivery.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of progressive engineering and construction experience
  • Experience in construction/project management and contract administration
  • Strong understanding of construction quality, inspection, testing and documentation
  • Experience managing project schedules, costs and multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with contractors, engineers, clients and public agencies
  • Heavy civil infrastructure
  • Water/wastewater and pipelines
  • Roads, highways and bridges
  • Utilities
  • Telecommunications and fiber infrastructure
  • Municipal and public facilities
  • Commercial construction

Experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software, construction estimating and job-cost management would be beneficial. A CCM, PE or comparable professional credential would also be advantageous.
