Job summary

Appleton Finn in Colorado is seeking a Project Engineer to join a leading heavy civil contractor responsible for infrastructure projects across the state. You will have hands‑on project responsibility, mentorship, and a clear path into project management.

You will coordinate RFIs, submittals, drawings, scheduling, cost reporting, procurement, and field coordination while upholding safety, quality and schedule.

Qualifications

• Project engineering or field engineering experience within heavy civil construction.
• Exposure to transportation, roadway, utilities, earthworks or related infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• A proactive approach and ambition to progress into project management.
• A relevant construction or engineering qualification, or equivalent practical experience.

Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction

Base Salary: $100,000–$110,000 + 10% bonus

We are recruiting a Project Engineer to join an established heavy civil contractor delivering infrastructure projects across Colorado. This opportunity offers hands‑on project responsibility, direct mentorship and a clear route into project management.

The Role

Working closely with the Project Manager and field leadership, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, helping maintain safety, quality, cost and schedule performance.
