As an Associate Cloud Security Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, testing, implementation, and support of Delta’s cloud-based security controls. The Cloud Security Engineering team has numerous security control guardrails deployed to many AWS accounts. There are numerous types of technologies in use that support the DevSecOps process. The engineer will need to have experience in working with Python and at least some exposure to AWS. The engineer will help provide support for the custom AWS solutions built by the Cloud Security Engineering team in support of Delta’s information security program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Participate in daily scrum meetings and collaboratively work with other team members.
Implement, deploy, and provide support for custom AWS Config Rules, Cloud Formation Hooks and other security guardrails. Troubleshoot and resolve problems with existing controls. Test and deploy enhancements and fixes when needed.
Innovate and create new cloud native products to further the goals of the information security program.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
0-2 years of experience as a software engineer or relevant training or education
0-2 years of experience in information security or relevant training or education
Experience engineering software within an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment
Hands on Python development experience
Experience with source control, build tools and GIT (GitHub, Bitbucket or other)
Experience working with Agile methodologies
Experience working with DevOps principles, practices and tools in an enterprise technology environment
Working knowledge of the full Software Development Lifecycle, building CI/CD pipelines, and practicing Test Driven Development
Fundamental awareness of application security principles
Ability to clearly communicate with peers, business analysts, and subject matter experts
Consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data
Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles
Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
