Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Bay in Panama City, FL, seeks a PRN Spiritual Care professional to provide religious and spiritual care to patients, families, associates and others, honoring diverse beliefs. You will assess and document pastoral care and support ethical decision-making with medical staff.

You will also offer prayers and blessings to local ministry and community, and assist in planning and evaluating the spiritual program with local ministry to ensure initiatives are carried out

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1 ACPE unit required.
• 2 ACPE units preferred.
• Master's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Human Behavior or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide religious and spiritual care and counsel for emotional and spiritual distress to patients, families, associates and others with attention to diverse spiritual orientations and cultures.
• Assess, provide, and document pastoral care to patients, families and staff.
• Provide appropriate pastoral care to the local ministry and community through prayer and blessings.
• Provide consultation to patients, families, and medical staff with ethical decision making and referrals as needed.
• Assist in planning, organizing, evaluating, and implementing the spiritual program with each local ministry to ensure spirituality initiatives are executed properly.

Education

• 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE preferred.
• Master's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Human Behavior or a related field preferred.

Work Experience

• 2 years of healthcare experience is preferred.
