Job summary

Ascension's Sacred Heart Bay Hospital in Panama City, FL seeks a Senior Nursing Leader to direct patient care delivery and department operations in Critical Care & Emergency. The role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, and compliance with clinical standards to support high-quality care.

Minimum qualifications include Florida RN license and BLS within 30 days; 5 years of leadership and 2 years of management experience.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire/date; American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credential from Florida Board of Nursing prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Establish departmental goals and policies across assigned specialty areas.
• Direct patient care delivery, quality assurance, complaint management, and audit readiness.
• Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources to meet fiscal and clinical targets.
• Collaborate with physicians and executive leadership to streamline operations and staffing.
• Oversee hiring, training, performance evaluation, and staff development.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Establish departmental goals and operational policies that align with clinical, legal, and health system standards across assigned specialty areas.
• Direct all patient care delivery, quality assurance, complaint management, and external/internal audit readiness.
• Manage departmental budgets, optimize resource allocation, and remove operational friction to achieve fiscal and clinical targets.
• Partner with physicians and executive leadership to streamline operations, staff utilization, and equipment workflow.
• Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and staff development.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
• Master's degree or combination of Bachelor's degree and experience preferred.

Work Experience

• 5 years of experience required.
• 10 years of experience preferred.
• 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
• 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

What Additional Preferences We're Seeking

• ER, ICU or Step-Down Unit experience.
