Job summary

Ascension in Racine, WI is seeking a compassionate Chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional care to patients, families, staff and communities.

The role involves pastoral care, prayer, and collaboration with healthcare teams, with a rotating, PRN schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Master's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Human Behavior or related field preferred.
• 1 ACPE unit required.
• 2 ACPE units preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual and emotional care to patients, families, staff and community members of diverse backgrounds.
• Assess, deliver and document pastoral care, including prayer, blessings and spiritual support.
• Guide ethical decision-making and collaborate with patients, families and healthcare teams.
• Support and implement spiritual care programs and ministry initiatives.

Education

Bachelor's degree

Master's degree in Theology / Religious Studies / Human Behavior or related field

1 ACPE unit required

2 ACPE units preferred

Education

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Human Behavior or a related field preferred. 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE required. 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE preferred.

Work Experience

• 2 years of healthcare experience is preferred.
