By The Bay Health in California is seeking an Associate Bereavement Counselor/Intern to support our Grief Counseling program under supervision of a licensed clinician. The role provides individual and group counseling to patients and families dealing with terminal illness, loss, and grief.

Responsibilities include supervision meetings, a broad range of in-services, an hourly stipend with benefits, and training in clinical documentation within an electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• Hold a master’s degree from an accredited program in Counseling Psychology or Social Work.
• Appropriate registration with the BBS required.
• 1+ years of experience conducting ongoing counseling preferred (virtually or in-person).
• Knowledge of Loss and Grief Counseling techniques.
• Be able to commit to 24 hrs/week including one evening per week for 18 months and travel to satellite sites as needed.
• Proficient in basic Microsoft Office; experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group counseling to bereaved hospice families and community members.
• Work under supervision of a Licensed MFT, LCSW, or LPCC.
• Participate in supervision meetings and in-service learning opportunities.
• Complete clinical documentation in the EMR system.

Our spectrum of home-based services now includes Skilled Home Health Care, Palliative Care, Adult Hospice Care and Pediatric Care. Our team approach strives to address practical, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of care, with the goal to maximize quality of life for our patients, caregivers and families.

We are seeking an Associate Bereavement Counselor/Intern (post grad) for our Grief Counseling program . The Associate Bereavement Counselor/Intern works under supervision of a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and provides individual and group counseling services to patients/families to address their emotional needs related to the impact of a terminal illness, loss, and grief.

Schedule:

Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday; 8:30am - 5:00pm with some evening shifts

Location:

Onsite; Larkspur, CA office with additional coverage at our Sonoma, CA office; 1 day remote option

Associate Bereavement Counselors provide individual, family, group, and school-basedGrief Counseling to bereaved Hospice families and members of the community.

• Weekly individual and group supervision meeting requirements of the BBS.

• 1+ years of experience conducting on-going counseling preferred (virtually or in-person).
• Be knowledgeable about Loss and Grief Counseling techniques.
• Be able to commit to 24 hrs./week, including one evening per week, (on an intermittentbasis), for a minimum of 18 months as well astravel to satellite sites, as needed.
• Have availability which includes Wednesdays and either Mon. or Fri.’s. & the 1st Wednesday of each month.
• Be proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications. Experience with documentation in an electronic medical record preferred.

Candidates bi-lingual in Mandarin are encouraged to.

Pay Range: $30.00 - $36.00 hourly
