Armstrong Law Group, APC is a law firm located in Koreatown focused exclusively on workers’ compensation defense for employers. The firm represents self-insured employers, claims administrators, and insurance carriers in a broad range of workers’ compensation matters. The firm regularly appears before Workers’ Compensation Appeals Boards throughout the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area and across Southern and Central California.

Role Description

The Associate Attorney, Workers’ Compensation, will handle a caseload of employer-side workers’ compensation matters from initial evaluation through resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and correspondence, preparing discovery, and appearing at Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board hearings and trials. The role involves advising employer, administrator, and insurer clients on claim exposure, strategy, and risk management, as well as negotiating settlements and participating in mediations when appropriate. The attorney will collaborate with senior lawyers and staff to maintain organized case files, meet deadlines, and ensure high-quality client service. This is a full-time, on-site position located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law and Workers’ Compensation, with exposure to Labor and Employment Law.
• Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to employer-side clients.
• Proficient in Legal Research, including case law, statutes, and administrative regulations relevant to workers’ compensation.
• Effective Negotiation skills for settlements, mediations, and claim resolutions.
• Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.
• Prior experience in workers’ compensation defense is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, including drafting pleadings and appearing at hearings.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff, and to interact professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and judges.
