Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded AM Law 100 law firm seeking a Corporate Associate – Mergers & Acquisitions to join its Dallas, TX office.

This role offers a mid-level corporate associate the opportunity to handle M&A and broader corporate and commercial matters for public and private companies, private equity funds and financial institutions. The Role

The successful attorney will support and lead key components of Corporate Associate – Mergers & Acquisitions matters, including:

• Support M&A and other general corporate and commercial matters.
• Lead due diligence teams and organize diligence findings.
• Coordinate specialist lawyers and transaction workstreams.
• Draft transaction documents and related corporate materials.
• Manage multiple assignments with limited supervision.
• Work closely with deal teams serving public companies, private businesses, private equity funds and financial institutions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a candidate with:

• Three to six years of corporate law experience.
• Particular experience in M&A and other general corporate and commercial matters.
• Demonstrated experience leading due diligence teams, managing specialists and drafting transaction documents.
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
• Strong academic credentials.
• JD required; ideally attained from a T25 law school. Candidates from a T50 law school will also be considered where they achieved honors.

Preferred / advantageous: Candidates should be prepared to identify Dallas as the office in which they wish to be considered.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated initial base salary is $170,000–$320,000, with actual compensation based on relevant skills, training, experience and other job-related factors. Verified benefits include productivity and discretionary bonuses, life, health, accident and disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan. The firm’s current policy asks attorneys to work from a firm office three days per week.
