Job summary

Watts & Associates is seeking a Corporate M&A Associate for its Houston, Austin, and Dallas platform. This role includes sophisticated domestic and cross-border M&A work for public and private companies, investors and strategic buyers.

The successful candidate will have 5–7 years of corporate M&A experience, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and Texas admission (or eligible). You will work closely with partners, gaining ownership of meaningful workstreams and client exposure.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of substantive corporate M&A experience.
• Experience handling domestic and cross-border M&A for sophisticated clients.
• Strong drafting, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
• High academic credentials in a sophisticated law firm environment.
• Texas Bar admission or eligible for admission.

Responsibilities

• Represent public and private companies, investors and strategic buyers in mergers, acquisitions and dispositions.
• Draft and negotiate purchase agreements, ancillary documents, governance matters and transaction materials.
• Manage due diligence, signing and closing processes and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Support joint ventures, restructurings and corporate-governance matters.
• Coordinate with attorneys across related practice areas and offices.

The Role

The successful attorney will support and lead key components of corporate M&A matters, including:
