Job summary

Circle Surrogacy, part of the NorthStar Fertility family, seeks an Associate Attorney to support its legal team serving intended parents, surrogates, and egg donors. You’ll draft contracts, review insurance policies, and help establish legal parentage rights in a niche field of law.

You will collaborate with clinics, social workers, and external attorneys, while maintaining high ethical standards and delivering compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Experience researching topics related to reproductive technology and IP.
• Contract drafting and negotiating experience.
• Ability to manage a caseload from intake to delivery to clients.
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective client communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRM.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on topics related to assisted reproductive technology and related IP issues.
• Draft and negotiate contracts and agreements.
• Manage caseload of intended parents from initial contact through delivery.
• Coordinate with clinics, outside counsel, social workers, and coordinators.
• Assist with insurance reviews and appeals and other assigned projects.
• Communicate clearly to clients and team, building trust and managing expectations.

We are seeking an Associate Attorney to play an integral role assisting our legal team in providing services for intended parents, surrogates, and egg donors throughout their journey. The position will allow person to draft contracts, review and analyze insurance contracts and policies, assist intended parents in establishing their legal parentage rights and learn and grow in an ever changing and niche field of law of assisted reproductive technology. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask and maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations, critical thinking and problem -solving skills, and an interest and/or experience in the field.

• Legal research on topics related to assisted reproductive technology and legal issues impacting assisted reproductive technology and IP, surrogate, donor relationships. Proficiency in West Law preferred.
• Contract drafting and negotiating.
• Managing caseload of intended parents independently from initial client sign on through delivery of child and return home.
• Working directly with clients and third parties, such as IVF Clinics and outside attorneys, as well as Circle’s social workers, program coordinators, and trust accountants.
• Additional tasks as assigned, such as helping other teams with various projects, trainings, and helping with insurance reviews and appeals.
• Effective communicator who communicates information clearly and adept at building trusting relationships.
• to prioritize your day and pivot when urgent matters arise.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Salesforce CRM
