Job summary

Circle Surrogacy, part of the NorthStar Fertility family, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our legal team supporting intended parents, surrogates, and egg donors. You will draft contracts, review insurance contracts, and help establish legal parentage rights.

The role emphasizes strong communication, multitasking, critical thinking, and a calm demeanor in high-stress situations. A background in assisted reproductive technology is a plus; excellent collaboration with clinics and advisors

Responsibilities

• Legal research on topics related to assisted reproductive technology and related IP, surrogacy, donor relationships. Proficiency in Westlaw preferred.
• Contract drafting and negotiating.
• Managing caseload of intended parents from initial signup through delivery and return home.
• Working directly with clients and third parties such as IVF clinics and outside attorneys, as well as Circle’s social workers, program coordinators, and trust accountants.
• Additional tasks such as helping other teams with various projects, trainings, and insurance reviews and appeals.
• Effective communicator with ability to build trusting relationships and communicate clearly.
• Ability to prioritize and pivot when urgent matters arise.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Salesforce CRM

We are seeking an Associate Attorney to play an integral role assisting our legal team in providing services for intended parents, surrogates, and egg donors throughout their journey. The position will allow person to draft contracts, review and analyze insurance contracts and policies, assist intended parents in establishing their legal parentage rights and learn and grow in an ever changing and niche field of law of assisted reproductive technology. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask and maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations, critical thinking and problem -solving skills, and an interest and/or experience in the field.

• Legal research on topics related to assisted reproductive technology and legal issues impacting assisted reproductive technology and IP, surrogate, donor relationships. Proficiency in West Law preferred.
• Contract drafting and negotiating.
• Managing caseload of intended parents independently from initial client sign on through delivery of child and return home.
• Working directly with clients and third parties, such as IVF Clinics and outside attorneys, as well as Circle’s social workers, program coordinators, and trust accountants.
