Job summary

Orion Placement in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a licensed attorney to join our highly respected litigation team representing policyholders in complex insurance bad faith disputes. You will draft pleadings, analyze policies, and handle depositions, discovery, and dispositive motions in state and federal court.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in insurance litigation, is in good standing with the California Bar, and can work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of insurance coverage or insurance bad faith litigation experience.
• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• Strong knowledge of California insurance law.
• Familiarity with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and California Code of Civil Procedure.
• Experience handling first-party and/or third-party insurance claims and coverage analysis.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative litigation team.

Responsibilities

• Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions in state and federal court.

• Conduct and defend depositions involving insureds, adjusters, underwriters, and expert witnesses.

• Collaborate with attorneys, experts, and litigation support professionals to develop case strategy.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
• Manage deadlines and multiple active litigation matters in a fast-paced environment.
