Confidential Employer in Woodland Hills, CA seeks a licensed attorney to join its litigation defense team. The role emphasizes independently managing insurance defense and civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, with a focus on complex casework and strong courtroom readiness.

Ideal candidates hold a Juris Doctor and California bar, with 5+ years of civil litigation experience, including motions, depositions, and discovery.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active California Bar license in good standing required.
• 5+ years of civil litigation experience in insurance defense strongly preferred.
• Strong motion practice, discovery, depositions, and case management.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple matters independently.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage insurance defense and civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare substantive legal analysis.
• Take and defend depositions and appear at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Develop litigation strategy and oversee all phases of discovery.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in case resolution strategy.
• Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel.
• Maintain accurate billing records while meeting annual billable hour expectations.
• Collaborate with partners and litigation team members on complex legal matters.

Location

Woodland Hills, California. This is an on‑site position where you'll work closely with an experienced litigation team while building strong client relationships and courtroom experience.

Note
