Job summary

Orionplacement in Woodland Hills, CA, seeks a full-time insurance coverage attorney to analyze commercial and personal policies and advise insurers on coverage questions and litigation strategy.

You will draft coverage letters, handle multi-jurisdictional issues, and represent insurers through all litigation stages while managing multiple matters and deadlines in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited or California-accredited law school.
• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• Experience with insurance coverage analysis, policy interpretation, or insurance coverage litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple legal matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with commercial and personal lines insurance preferred.
• Insurance bad faith, first-party or third-party coverage experience is a plus.
• Trial experience, federal court admissions, additional state admissions, or portable book of business are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance policies and provide comprehensive coverage opinions.
• Draft reservation of rights letters, denial letters, and other insurance coverage letters.
• Interpret policy language and legal issues across jurisdictions.
• Represent insurers in insurance coverage litigation through all phases.
• Manage pleadings, discovery, motion practice, mediations, trials, and appeals as applicable.
• Advise clients regarding complex insurance coverage disputes and litigation strategy.
• Handle coverage matters involving construction defect, product liability, employment, landlord-tenant, IP, entertainment, and other complex claims.
• Maintain strong client relationships while providing responsive legal guidance.
• Manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines and billable hour expectations.

Location

Woodland Hills, California. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity where you'll collaborate with an experienced legal team while handling sophisticated insurance coverage and litigation matters.
