Confidential Employer in Woodland Hills, CA, seeks an attorney to join a boutique litigation defense firm. You will manage civil matters through all stages, under seasoned mentors.

This hybrid role offers 3 days in office, 2 remote, and a strong benefits package plus quarterly bonuses.

Applicants must be licensed in California; 1+ year of litigation experience preferred; insurance defense and related practice areas valued.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• 1+ year of litigation experience preferred.
• Insurance defense or civil litigation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned civil litigation matters through all stages of the case lifecycle with appropriate supervision.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare written analysis of substantive and procedural issues.
• Participate in case strategy, discovery planning, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations as experience permits.
• Communicate professionally with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, experts, court personnel, and colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, court rules, ethical obligations, and firm policies.
• Maintain accurate billable and non-billable time records while meeting annual billable-hour expectations.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys and contribute to high-quality client service.

Job description

• Join a respected boutique litigation defense firm where you'll work alongside experienced attorneys on meaningful civil litigation matters.
• Build hands-on experience across the full litigation lifecycle, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Take on an active caseload while receiving guidance and mentorship from seasoned litigators.
• Enjoy a hybrid 3 days in office / 2 days remote schedule, subject to client and practice needs.
