Job summary

Safeguard Law Group, PLLC seeks a full-time Associate Attorney to join its Hawaii practice. You will draft pleadings, memoranda, and manage a heavy workload across consumer protection matters. This role involves regular interaction with clients and supporting staff.

As the firm’s headquarters are in New York, you will communicate with the main office via telephone and electronic means, including email and Teams. Hawaii residency is required, with travel for in-court appearances.

Qualifications

Associate Attorney

We are looking for a full-time Associate Attorney to join our firm's practice in Hawaii. The ideal candidate is one who has experience drafting legal documents such as pleadings and legal memoranda, has strong organizational skills, and is willing to take on a heavy workload. This position imparts broad responsibilities and exposes you to a range of legal issues related to consumer protection, including transactional and civil litigation matters. Because our firm’s headquarters are in New York, this position entails communicating with our main office exclusively via telephone and electronic means (e-mail, Microsoft Teams, etc.).

Candidates must be currently located in Hawaii to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining and supervising a heavy & diversified caseload of the Firm’s clients in Hawaii
• Communicating with clients regarding their respective matters.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing & drafting agreements, etc.
• Communicating with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims.
• Legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law.
• While this role is based from home, you will be required to travel for in court appearances.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
• Must possess superior organizational & time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills

• Strong legal research skills -- proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
