Job summary

Henderson Scott US in Dallas, TX is seeking a licensed attorney for a fully remote role outside of court appearances; you must live in Texas and be admitted to the Texas bar. This is a strictly 40-hour per week position with no billable hours.

You will manage a diverse consumer protection caseload, handle transactional and civil litigation matters, draft pleadings, motions, and agreements, and negotiate settlements. A minimum of 1 year of experience at a law firm and TX admission are required.

Qualifications

• Must be admitted to the Texas bar (JD or equivalent degree).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant law firm experience.
• Strong legal research and drafting skills required.

Job description

This position imparts broad responsibilities and exposes you to a range of legal issues related to consumer protection, including transactional and civil litigation matters.

You will manage litigation cases and resolve legal disputes on behalf of clients by developing agreements, negotiating contacts, setting claims and advocating for clients in court.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and supervising a heavy & diversified caseload of the firm's clients in TX
• Communicating with clients regarding their respective matters
• Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing & drafting agreements, etc.
• Communicating with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims
• Legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law

Qualifications:

• Must be currently admitted to practice law in TX (multi-state admission would be amazing)
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
