Job summary

Assistive Technology of Alaska is seeking an AT Specialist to work with ATLA staff in demonstrations, assessments, and individualized recommendations for assistive technology solutions. The role supports individuals of all ages and abilities and contributes to educational programs and grant activities.

The position involves delivering trainings, researching AT products, and assisting with funding processes, outreach, and documentation across Alaska.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
  • AT credential preferred
  • Two years of experience with individuals with disabilities
  • Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to travel Alaska
  • Must live in Anchorage or relocate to Anchorage area
  • Independent communication skills
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and move equipment
  • Independent mobility and ability to transport equipment across Alaska

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate assistive technology solutions to individuals, families, and professionals.
  • Complete individualized assessments and recommend AT solutions.
  • Deliver one-on-one and group trainings in person and virtually.
  • Research new AT products and identify suitable solutions.
  • Help clients obtain AT through funding sources and equipment acquisition.
  • Create educational materials and presentations for outreach.
  • Represent ATLA at statewide and national meetings and conferences.
  • Maintain documentation and grant-related data.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Human Services, Education, Assistive Technology, Engineering, IT, or related field
