Job summary

Assistive Technology of Alaska (ATLA) is seeking an innovative, compassionate AT Specialist to help Alaskans with disabilities live, work, learn, and participate more independently. This role collaborates with ATLA staff to provide demonstrations, assessments, training, and individualized recommendations for assistive technology solutions across Alaska.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Speech‑Language Pathology, Human Services, Education, Assistive Technology, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent).
• Two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Alaska.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assistive technology demonstrations for individuals and groups.
• Complete individualized assessments and recommend AT solutions.
• Deliver one‑on‑one training and group workshops in person or virtually.
• Research emerging AT products to identify suitable solutions.
• Assist consumers in obtaining AT through funding resources and equipment.
