Job summary

North Shore Community College seeks a Part-Time Assistive Technology Learning Specialist/Accessibility Counselor at the Lynn campus. The role supports students with documented disabilities, evaluating accommodations, and facilitating access to assistive technology in a hybrid setting.

20 hours/week, with unpaid breaks between semesters. Responsibilities include intakes, testing coordination, and staff workshops on assistive tech.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students or individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of assistive technology tools including JAWS & Kurzweil.
• Knowledge of disability laws and ADAAA compliance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel between campuses if needed.
• Candidates may need to pass CORI/SORI and/or National background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with accessing assistive technology in the Assistive Technology Lab.
• Conduct intakes and evaluate documentation for accommodations.
• Assist with activation of services and alternate text accommodations.
• Convert materials into accessible formats for students with disabilities.
• Provide instruction on assistive technology use and adaptive equipment.
• Develop teaching pedagogies for using the Lab's software and equipment.
• Provide tutoring and information to faculty on accommodations.
• Assist in data entry and reporting for Accessibility Services.
