Job summary

Green Hills is seeking a hospitality-minded Resident Aide to join our growing team in Ames, IA. You will assist residents with daily living activities, help with medications under RN/LPN supervision, and ensure a safe, compassionate environment.

Training and support are provided as part of a values-driven, senior-focused care team. Requirements include CNA licensure, Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• CNA licensure required and ongoing compliance with Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Ability to document nursing care and communicate changes to RN/LPN on duty.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, mobility and personal hygiene.
• Administer medications under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Document care given and maintain clean, organized resident rooms.
• Support nutrition and hydration and assist with dining as needed.

Shifts Available: Please indicate in the prescreening questions whether you are seeking full-time or part-time employment and which shift(s) you are available to work. All positions will work every other weekend.

DAYS: 6:00AM - 2:00PM
EVENINGS: 2:00PM - 10:00PM
OVERNIGHTS: This position does not have overnight shifts available.

Starting Wage:$19.00/hr. Additional compensation for experience.

Green Hills is actively looking for a hospitality-minded Resident Aide, to join our growing team! Resident Aides assist with the personal care of tenants/residents and administration of medications under the delegation of a registered nurse; provides care as assigned by the charge nurse and does appropriate documentation on each tenant/resident to create a flow of continuing care; follows safety procedures and keeps the charge nurse informed of all relevant resident information through close observation.

• Accurately document nursing care after assisting a resident, in accordance with community and regulatory standards.
• Timely report any changes in resident condition to the RN/LPN on duty.
• Perform and chart Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) in accordance with each resident’s nursing care plan.
• Administer medication under direction of the RN/LPN on duty.
• Treat each resident as an individual and address them respectfully.
• Assist residents with nutrition and hydration, monitoring food and fluid intake as well as physically assisting with dining as needed.
• Ensure resident rooms are kept clean and organized.
• Exhibit the highest degree of commitment to Person-Directed Care philosophy.

• Are 18 years old for eligibility to complete the Medication Manager course within 30 days of hire.
• Have obtained your CNA licensure, according to Department of Inspections and Appeals guidelines.
• Maintain a valid registration with the Direct Care Worker Registry in Iowa.
• Can assist residents in case of an emergency, including during evacuation procedures.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
• Can pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

CNAs working in Assisted Living, are referred to as Resident Aides. They assist residents with daily activities, such as bathing, grooming, personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and medication management. They also provide assistance with laundry, housekeeping, and more.
