Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an assistant teacher passionate about bringing out the best in kids, connecting to our community and having fun.

This part-time, hourly role offers flexible scheduling, a free YMCA membership, and discounts on programs. You will help plan engaging curricula, support families, and maintain a safe, clean learning environment. Opportunity to grow within a mission-driven nonprofit.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years (2500 hours) verified childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula to ensure fun, child-centered, and age-appropriate lessons are offered.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for both children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and supporting personal care routines of the children.
• Supervise each child in your care by being able to identify, SEE, HEAR, DIRECT and ASSIST, always ensuring a safe environment.
• Uphold all YMCA, State, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for overall commitment to quality in childcare.
